Online Customer – evangelist marketing
When looking at the ever growing importance of the on-line customer, I seem to be bombarded by the term evangelist marketing. Online evangelism marketing is one of the tools to turn the devoted customer into a selfless sales force and public relation manager of the company.
Wikipedia defines the evangelism marketing as “an advanced form of Word of Mouth Marketing (WOMM) in which companies develop customers who believe so strongly in a particular product or service that they freely try to convince others to buy and use it. The customers become voluntary advocates, actively spreading the word on behalf of the company”.
The word “evangelist” comes from Greek word eu-angelos, meaning “Bringer of good news”.
Evangelist marketing has become the latest buzz word.
After 23 years dealing with one man businesses to large multi-nationals maybe I see the world in a simple way or perhaps I am growing cynical but surely all this is just relabelling a fundamental business truth - if you do not constantly put yourself in the shoes of your customer and maintain the highest level of customer service you will not ultimately succeed.
